The World’s Largest Emerald Steel Initiative
Colemans were engaged by one of the world’s biggest technology companies to demolish a 90,000m2 portal frame building in South Wales.
At Colemans we’re committed to supporting the circular economy, continuously seeking new ways to reuse and repurpose materials. This includes our pioneering approach to identify, record and deconstruct Emerald Steel, so that it can be reused in construction projects, offering a far more sustainable alternative to new steel. It’s all part of our wider culture of supporting the planet, taking proactive steps to mitigate the impact of our actions for future generations.
We believe it’s important to consider the future of our planet in everything that we do. In the same way that we take steps to ensure the wellbeing of our people, we have developed a culture that supports the wellbeing of our planet too.
It’s all part of our wider commitment to progress and transparency, working safely and in collaboration with clients to help them on their net zero journey as we pursue our own.
Colemans are proud members of the SME Climate Hub, a global initiative that empowers small to medium sized companies to take climate action and build more resilient businesses. We have committed to halve our own emissions by 2030 and achieve net zero by 2050 as part of the United Nations Race to Zero campaign. Our actions will be audited every year under the SME Climate Hub initiative.
We have embedded a circular economy approach into the heart of our projects, leading the industry for pioneering initiatives such as the use of Emerald Steel. This approach has been applied across our disciplines, including demolition and deconstruction, remediation and specialist cutting.
